Expect Irish-Inspired Ice Cream at Cone
Going out for an ice cream cone is one of summer’s simplest delights. But Cone, the gourmet ice cream parlor on West Madison, is a reminder that even a traditional ice cream parlor can offer a few surprises. This family-owned and -operated sweets shop opened in 2013 and has built a reputation as one of Chicago’s favorite spots for ice cream.
Owner and founder Sean McGuire originally hails from Ireland, and the influence of the Emerald Isle is evident throughout the menu, with items like 99 Cone (vanilla soft-serve with an Irish chocolate Flake bar), Irish Breakfast (Jameson ice cream with cornflakes) and Arthur Guinness (an ice cream sundae made with Guinness and Irish soda bread).
Takeout and contactless delivery are available through GrubHub, Postmates, and Uber Eats. Pints and catering orders are also available. Pro tip: Pick up a Lucky You card, and for every nine cones or sundaes you purchase you’ll get a tenth one free.
