Secure Your Spot at the Chicago Polar Bear Plunge
Grab a group of your courageous friends and jump into the icy waters of Lake Michigan this winter as part of the Chicago Polar Bear Plunge. The event, set for noon on Jan. 20, has been an annual tradition in Chicago since 2001 and helps raise funds for local families.
Since its inception, the event has raised a total of $400,000. The 2020 will benefit three families who are dealing with loss, medical problems, and financial challenges. By taking part in this year’s plunge, you’ll be able to do something fun while knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of local families. Participants are encouraged to embrace the craziness of the event and have as much fun as possible by creating their own costumes and making a party out of it.
Registration is $30 for the plunge or $60 for the plunge and after party at Moe’s Cantina River North. You can also sign up just to take part in the after party, too, if you’d rather watch from the shore. More information on what to bring to event — including shoes and warm clothes — is available here.
